thorough home inspection.
Tim showed up a few minutes before our
scheduled appointment and made sure
the occupants of the home were
expecting him.
The home was more complex than Tim
anticipated, and took almost 7 hours
of documentation on-site. Tim did not
charge us for the extra hours on-site,
nor for the extra work required when
writing the report. It had to be sent
in two separate emails it was so
large."

Of Work: We
hired Tim McGill after
searching online for home
inspectors and hired him to
come and conduct a whole
house inspection for us to
determine if it qualified
for our loan for the
purchase of this house. Tim
inspected the house from
top, from crawling on the
roof to searching down to
the tiniest crack in the
garage floor. From torn
screen in the storm door to
condensation that formed in
an unvented area in a crawl
space. He explained how
everything happened and what
the fix was for it.

When we hired Tim McGill of
PortlandHomeInspect.com, we
just didn't know what to
expect. We had never had a
home inspection done before.
We were really surprised at
all that goes into an
inspection. When we set up
an appointment on line, he
called within hours to
confirm. When we arrived at
the given time, he was
already there outside and
looking the exterior over.
He was climbing on the roof
and reporting any little
nails that were exposed in
need of tarring or
replacing. He was in the
attic, crawling around
looking at insulation and
air flow. He reported no
exhaust was vented out from
the bathroom fans which in
time would cause mold and
mildew. He made sure every
single outlet in the house
worked and reported any
loose caulking around tub
and sinks that needed
immediate attention. He took
around 50+ pictures. He just
worked the house from top to
bottom. Nothing left
unturned. He was at the
house around 3 hours
inspecting. He would point
out every little detail to
us as we went along with
him, and was always happy to
answer any and all questions
we had for him. He was so
patient and understanding as
we had to bring our 4 year
old Granddaughter along with
us and she was a little
distracting at times but it
never seemed to bother him.
His report was emailed to us
at the end of the day with
all pictures and details of
flaws in house but in the
end, we got the "thumbs up"
of approval. I would
recommend Tim to anyone who
wants a good and thorough
house inspection and his
price was unbelievably low
from what we checked on,
from other home inspectors
in the area. Our "new home"
is 1640 square feet and he
only charged us $250. WOW
That was so nice since all
the other inspectors were
like $375 up to $500. We
were very pleased with his
